KO reader to show title of book reading on every page and mobi books follow links.

Hello.

I am somehow not able to see the books title i am reading on every page. I would like to see it.

I am using the 27 feb nightly build.

Also i do not know, should i create a new thread or something, for one another concern.

In the mobi books, I have I am somehow not able to follow links from the Index for chapters.
In the epub books, follow links happen without even activating it from the menu options.

Because of this, I have to bookmark the TOC page and come back again to see how is the book structured. If, I could follow link, then it could save all the trouble. Plus as I, earlier pointed, there is no TOC detected in KO Reader for mobi files. Some conversion tip might as well do for .mobi files that i am missing here.

These both concerns, I would very much like it to be addressed, if at all they can be rectified and contributors find the space to do it.

Errors with EPUB rendering on Kobo Aura H2O running koreader-stable-v2015.11

Can't render the EPUB version of the Father Brown Omnibus posted on this forum here: http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74602

Gives a lot of question marks between characters, suspect possible unicode issue? Not certain.

Correctly renders the MOBI version of the same book (found here: http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13637)

Any advice would be appreciated. I prefer EPUBs, don't want to switch to MOBI unless I have to.

Can't open ebooks: "No reader engine for this file" (Onyx i86)

I tried the latest update (nightly-20160227) on my Onyx i86. It does open neither epubs nor djvus. It simply tells me "No reader engine for this file".

New KoReader update doesn't work in my device.

Hi, I have been using this KoReader version "koreader-kobo-arm-linux-gnueabihf-v2015.11-106-gd9b55af" until today without problems.
Today I have tried several times to update to the last version "koreader-kobo-arm-linux-gnueabihf-v2015.11-253-gcf9dc26". First I tried with the OTA service, and later manually, connecting the device to the computer.
When I try to start Kobo pushing in its icon I see the KO Reader logo for a couple of seconds and then the device restarts.
If I install the previous version KoReader works again.
I have a Kobo Mini with firmware 3.17.3 and I use fmon to start KoReader. I have PBChess in my Kobo and it starts well with fmon.
Any advice?

How can I reflow a PDF?

I installed the newest KOreader on my kindle 4 black and tried to reflow a PDF. But I can't find this option in menu.
How can I reflow a PDF?

ebook is suspended when trying to turn off

When trying to turn off the Kobo with the red button in Koreader I get "Suspended" notice and can turn off just through home-> power off.
How can I fix this issue?

Watched status in Koreader file manager?

Is there a way to see watched status, as in unread/progress%/finished, in the Koreader file manager? Have been looking for a toggle in the settings but can't find one.

KOreader start problem on Kobo Touch

Hi everyone. I install koreader on my kobo touch. But when start koreader, show in screen "Tab the upper right corner" message and a hand image in upper right corner. I tap it, but does not give any response. And it doesn't start. (Firmware is lastest version.)
Please help me. thanks.

PDF extremely slow?

I just installed the Kobo Start Menu 08 and the KOreader today, it's my first time using it. Upon opening a 14 mb PDF of a book, it just takes 5-10 seconds or even longer to switch pages. I even let it load for a while but it's still like this. Once it's been open on a page before, it can go back a certain few pages before it slows up, or forward a couple of pages before it slows down again. I love the reflow and all that but sad how it's slow. Is it normal that it's slow?

Ps: I am using a Kobo Aura H2O on the latest firmware. Thanks!

Calibre Shelves in KOReader

Dear All,
this is my first post (and thread) in this awesome forum.
I searched on the various discussions, but I couldn't find a satisfactory answer.
I used (with nickel) to organize my books in shelves with calibre.
Now I'm using KOReader because of its superiority in terms of features and pdf reading capabilities, and I'm currently browsing my books with the builtin file manager.
I would like to access the calibre shelves using KOReader but I couldn't find an appropriate option... Is this calibre feature supported in KOReader?

P.S.
I found "Browser series" and "browser tags" in the file manager menu, but they don't show the shelves I created...

long press problem on KOreader

I have a problem on KOreader. It is doing a long press function when I touch the screen normally. It detects a long press at very short time. I think, 3x quick then normal speed. I need for help you.

Terminal Application

Hi...
I would like to ask maybe someone knows any good terminal applications on kobo reader ?
I want to use it to be able to write and run scripts directly on Kobo to be able to access serial port and setup some network equipment....
For now I found only one terminal app that is in Kobo Start Menu 0.8 and is called kbterminal.sh but it isn't really comfortable to use it, keyboard is to big and you need to close it to see output, but it is functioning...
but in vlasovsoft launcher there is good program Notepad, if there would be terminal program that looks like it only without bottom shortcuts and tab it would be really cool. how hard is to make this type of program ?

Search within book

I've just recently installed KOreader for the first time, so I'm not very familiar with all the features yet.
When long-pressing a certain word in the book and select search, the word(s) is highlighted on the current page and I can skip through all, similar to the search function in MS Word.
I'd want the search function to be similar to the one in Nickel, though. Is that possible?

Connect/Disconnect to Calibre

What is the proper way of connecting my Kobo to the PC (Calibre) when running Koreader? Standard setting seems to be that it doesn't connect at all (only charges the Kobo).
Do I have to enable and disable the USB connection everytime I want to connect and disconnect, respectively, my device with Calibre?

I've seen that there's an option of connecting via WIFI. Would you recommend that option over cable connection? Are there any advantages, besides not having to connect a cable?

In short: I'm looking for the most convenient way to get books on my kobo (Koreader), preferable structured a certain way.

Figured out how to create a hidden folder under Windows: create folder named ".foldername."
The trailing dot disappears after hitting enter key.

Not able to change fonts

I'm just bought my next ebook (epub). Sent it to my Kobo using Calibre. Opened it in Koreader and tried to change the font to Noto Serif, but nothing happens. No matter what font I choose, it doesn't change. Status message says something like "Redrawing font to Noto Serif" (or whatever font I choose).

Any ideas? Didn't have that problem with my last ebook.

How can I see the last opened books in koreader, like in the nickel home screen?
aNd another question - when I want to copy ebooks from my PC to my Kobo I do it in nickel. Can I do it in Koreader?

5.6.1.1 on PW1

I have a PW1 which used to run KOReader.
I made the mistake of switching on wifi and it was updated to 5.6.1.1 so now KOReader does not work although the KUAL extensions (calculator etc) do.
I have installed the hotfix using Update Your Kindle but if I try to open an epub it says “Application Error: the selected application could not be started”, and if I try to start KOReader from KUAL the message “KOReader starting” appears for a few seconds and then goes off..
I copied the contents of kindle-5.4-jailbreak.zip to Kindle root, then [HOME] -> [MENU] > Settings -> [MENU], but Update Your Kindle is greyed out (although I know the update bin was there).
I also tried the MRPI approach. I successfully installed it and copied KOReader into mrpackages, but when I ran it it said no mrpackages were found.
Help would be much appreciated, both in unravelling whatever I have done wrong and in describing the sequence of steps to do it correctly.

Auto refresh time in status bar

Hi,

I've implemented all the changes in the readerfooter.lua file pointed out here. After saving the file, disconnecting my Kobo and rebooting it, the time in the status bar still doesn't refresh automatically. Do I have to change another settings as well or enable the option anywhere?

Koreader doesn't respond to "page-forward" touch in reflow mode
