Possible to have Koreader as default for all but Adobe Digital Editions?

Hi,

The title explains it all. I installed Koreader and made it the default reader. I really like it for PDFs as it is much faster than the default reader.

The problem arose when I needed to start reading Adobe DRM book from the library: Koreader doesn't know how to read this file and now it seems there is no way of reading this while having Koreader as the default reader?

So is there any workaround so that Koreader could be default but still I could read Adobe Digital Editions with the Pocketbook default reader?

Progress Sync across different platforms

Finally got around to installing KOReader on my Kobos (Aura HD and Glo HD).

So far so good except for progress sync. Syncing works fine between PW3 & PW4 and between Aura HD & Glo HD. Alas, syncing between Kobo & Kindle isn't working.

How does progress sync work? The wiki states the following so I assumed it was going by checksum or something. Given it won't sync progress on identical files between Kobo & Kindle, it appears it's using some other identifier that's not intrinsic to the epub. The epubs even have the same path and filename except for obvious reasons the Kindle's on /mnt/us/ and the Kobo's on /mnt/onboard/.

KOReader renders covers unscaled

Hello,

I am using KOReader on Kobo A1 LE. It reads epubs generated with Calibre. The covers are not scaled to the full size of the display, but displayed at their own size, aligned to top and centered horizontally. This is not a problem of Calibre. Do I need to fine-tune KOReader in any way?

User style tweak not working

Hi, I have a few epubs that contain <hr class="transition" /> in them. These are rendered in KOReader by a horizontal line which I would like to get rid of.

I know I can edit the .css for the book in Calibre and change them to display:none, but I thought it would be more fun to do it by adding a user style tweak to the styletweaks directory.

I've created a file no-cr.css in that folder and tried .transition { display:none; }, hr.transition { display:none; }, and hr { display: none; } (and even all three in the same file) but none of them seem to do the trick. Am I missing something about how/when the user style tweaks are processed? What is the right way to do this?

Possible to sync reading position between Calibre & Koreader?

I've been using a Kobo H2O for a while now with the default reading app, and the KoboUtilities plugin in calibre would backup my reading progress every time I plugged it in so I could restore it if anything ever happened to cause it to be lost (like database corruption, or that annoying microSD bug a while back). Anyway H2O screen is ruined, plan to switch to a Boyue Likebook Mars and use Koreader as my main reading app, wondering if there is an easy way to export the saved reading progress from Calibre's columns into Koreader.

Really if the ones that are incomplete don't get their bookmark moved properly I can live with that since there's only a handful I'm actually in the process of reading, but it'd be nice if at minimum the ones with a "100" in the column I could batch set as "finished" in koreader in some easy automated way since there are hundreds of those.

Hi,


Which new device with a big screen (~8inch) do you suggest for running KOreader? I'm considering the Inkpad 3 and Kobo Forma, but different suggestions are welcome too. I'd rule out the kindle because it needs to be jailbroken, and I don't want to support locked hardware by buying it.

Unwanted wallpaper

Hi

Using Koreader on a PW3. I think I use the latest Koreader version.

I changed the wallpaper unwittingly (I really don't know how I did it) and I would like to revert to the previous one (The Kindle usual wall paper with pencils). It must be buried somewhere in the Kindle's system but I am unable to write its path.

Could someone advise me on this?

Problem with KOReader 2019.06 "Sea Buckthorn"

Hi,
I updated the Koreader to last version, 2019.06 "Sea Buckthorn" on my Onyx M96.

After the installing I have a problem: the highlighting of the text is now very slow. I select the first word, move the stylus over the last word I want highlight and - slowly - the selection start. It could take some seconds when before it toke more or less one second.

I try to reinstall a previous version I downladed in April, and with April version the text highlighting is fast as before. So I think the problem must be related to last version.

Anyone has the same problem?

What is "use smaller panning rate"

It is placed on gear icon>screen>e-ink settings>use smaller panning rate. "use smaller panning rate" is enabled by default but when I disable it what will happen?

Yes I can delete readed books or change It to another folder. But for me is best only filter by pendings books(book status).

Tap middle of screen to show menus

It's extremely common for a middle screen tap to activate the menus but Koreader requires a tap near the top or bottom. Am I missing the option to add a tap zone to middle of the screen for this?

Kobo Forma Calibre hangs on get list

After the most recent update calibre is unable to process the get list command no matter how long you leave it. Have used calibre for years on multiple different devices never had this issue. Tried the debug device and it had no effect. Recongnizes the correct device just won’t get lust:help::help:

Previously highlighted text appears dim

Hi,

I'm running KOReader v2019.06 on a Kobo H2O (Gen 1). I highlight on my device using KOReader and sync it to Calibre sometimes by just sending the device version to Calibre.

I noticed that when I re-imported the PDF from Calibre after doing some editing to the PDF (adding a ToC) in Nitro Pro 12, KOReader displays the highlights very faintly, and also does not recognize them as full highlights; in other words, I'm also not able to interact with these highlights in KOReader by, for instance, tapping them to then delete them.

Here are some pictures to show you what I mean:

How text I highlighted in KOReader appears on a PDF reader on PC when I move the file over there(this is good -- highlights appear and behave normally. I can interact with the highlights made in KOReader in the PC program):

How the text I highlighted appears on KOReader when I re-import from PC (this is bad -- the text that was highlighted is lighter than normal and no longer is recognized as a highlight by KOReader - can't tap to delete for example):

I noticed this issue was mentioned on a previous thread, but I didn't see any possible solutions.

Any tips on how to get imported highlights to behave nicely in KOReader would be appreciated. Thanks!
